Dock bug
The dock bug is a brown piercing and sucking insect.
Approx. 1.5 cm when adult
It lives close to water in hedgerows, on the edge of woods and in wet grasslands.
Its diet consists of docks and sorrels. it uses its stylets to pierce plants, leaves and seeds, and sucks out their sap. it has been known to pierce squashes, damaging vegetable patches.
