The common woodlouse is a rare land-based crustacean.
It has 14 legs and measures 1.2 to 1.8 cm in length.
It lives in dark, wet places, under stones or on rotting wood. it is only active at night to avoid the risk of drying out in the sun.
Scavenger and eats plant debris such as dead leaves. it thereby contributes to plant recycling.
